AMATEUR POP INCORPORATED: EVENTS POLICY

One of the main goals of AmPop is to make everything we do as accessible to as many people as we can. To this end, we aim to use venues that are fully physically accessible where possible, and avoid using strobe lighting. We also offer free entry to paid events for carers and personal assistants (see below). Access information specific to each event will be posted in any Facebook event pages and ticket links on this website; if you have any specific accessibility needs, please get in touch and we will do our best to accommodate.
2. FINANCIAL ACCESSIBILITY
We recognise that, for many people, going to gigs and events is a financial luxury. As such, we make our events either free entry, or as low-cost as possible. AmPop is run as not-for-profit; any profits generated from events or record sales go entirely toward paying performers/venues and funding future releases on the label. In addition, all paid-entry events are NOTAFLOF (no-one turned away for lack of funds).
If you know you can’t afford to pay in to the gig, or would like to arrange free entry for a carer or personal assistant, get in touch and we can arrange free or discounted entry for you.
3. GENDER NEUTRAL FACILITIES
We aim to provide gender-neutral / all-gender toilet facilities at all of our events. Relevant information will be posted on all Facebook event pages, and ticket links on this website.
4. SAFE(R) SPACES
All AmPop events are subject to our Safe(r) Spaces Policy*. This policy has been written to make sure that all our shows and events are enjoyable and safe for EVERYONE. Most of the points are common sense, but people need to be aware of them as making the show positive is the responsibility of everyone in attendance.
The aim of this policy is:
A) to prevent harmful behaviours such as violence, harassment, violation of consent, and oppressive behaviour – including but not limited to actions that in any way perpetuate misogyny, racism, transphobia, homophobia, biphobia, fatphobia, ableism, anti-semitism, islamophobia and other systemic methods of oppression.
B) to ensure attendees feel safe and are confident that they can speak up if they feel threatened, or if they witness any aggressive or offensive behaviour directed towards others - particularly youth, women, queer and trans people, and people of colour.
These conditions are in place to protect people. They are easy to follow and are within the grounds of common sense and basic decency, so please respect them, respect the people around you and enjoy the music. That's what we're all here for!
Any breach of the aforementioned conditions will result in ejection from the show and the venue with no refund.
A phone number will be posted on signs inside the venue to call/text if you, or anyone else, is feeling threatened or unsafe.
